About the Virginia State Inspection
Safe driving is a priority to the state of Virginia. Since 1933, the Virginia Motor Vehicle Safety Inspection Program has been helping drivers stay safe on the road. Every year, Virginia requires motorists to have their vehicles undergo a safety inspection examining a long list of items from seat belts to the exhaust and lights. Most vehicles must be inspected annually: passenger vehicles, SUVs, pick-up trucks, trailers, motorhomes, and motorcycles. If your vehicle is over 25 years old and registered as an antique under the Department of Motor Vehicles, it does not require annual testing. If you are new to Virginia or have bought a new vehicle, it must pass the Virginia state inspection to register it. We are equipped and qualified at Ferber’s Tire & Auto Service in Ashland, Virginia, to perform the Virginia state inspection for all vehicle types. Don’t hesitate to contact our auto repair shop for more information.

My experience with Ferber’s Automotive and Body Shop was very professional. The staff was kind and informative. I was very pleased with Ferber’s service and will definitely utilize them for future service for my automotive needs.
Very happy. They took me in as soon as I got there. My battery quit and had to get a jump before I could get there. Greatful they were able to help.
I’m a “car guy” and love my high performance vehicles, which is why I have taken them to Ferber’s for years. Excellent, knowledgeable, quick service, delivered in a friendly cooperative atmosphere. They stand behind their work. They do not try to push unneeded procedures, but they help me stay on top of the necessary maintenance. This helps me be able to drive my vehicles to the near 200K mi mark. I drive out of my way to get to them, because they are worth it!
I recently had an auto accident and decided to have the repairs made at Ferber’s Body Shop in Ashland because of their outstanding reviews. Ferber’s did NOT disappoint. They scored…!! Excellent and friendly staff that got me set up for repairs. Ferber’s did an awesome job repairing my vehicle in a timely manner, and my vehicle looks like new. I highly recommend them to anybody looking for all round excellent quality. I give them 5-stars.
Good quality work, and good customer service. I find the pricing to be a bit high… for instance $9 for a valve stem that didn’t really need to be replaced but it was their “policy.” I find the lady that works the front desk much more accommodating than the guy…. he needs to work on that.
One of the best experiences I’ve had at an auto shop. Ferber’s isn’t intimidating like most auto shops/dealers can be so it was a breath of fresh air. Staff is extremely friendly and personable. Davey was incredible and a huge help every step of the way!
Took my wife’s car here for new tires. They recommended two types for her to choose. She is very happy, which makes me happy. Everything went smooth and they delivered exactly as they said.
The guys got my car put back together after my neighbor decided to peel it back like a tuna can with a u haul. Great work guys top notch service
I have a business with a small fleet of pickups and Ferber gets to us quickly when we have emergency repairs needed, knowing we need our truck operational asap. Excellent communication for what needs to be done and estimates.
Great customer service – Truck went in for state inspection and it looks they fixed a flat and topped off tires with air at no charge. I have taken my truck to both locations and very happy with their service.
